Regional Workshop on "Deploying the 2050 vision on SAF, LCAF, and cleaner energies for aviation"

Asuncion, Paraguay - 22-23 August 2024

Fuels are key elements in the aviation sustainability agenda. They are a fundamental tool for CORSIA and essential for the achievement of the Net Zero in 2050 Long-Term Aspirational Goal (LTAG) agreed upon at the last ICAO Assembly (A41), as they would be responsible for providing between 45 and 70% of the expected CO2 reduction by 2050.

Establishing regulations and policies for SAF is a key prerequisite for the expansion of SAF production and demand. 

This regional workshop aims to present the required elements and practical tools available for the establishment of such policies.

The workshop is organised in the framework of the EU-Latin America and Caribbean Aviation Partnership II Project, funded by EU and implemented by European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), partnering for this workshop with Agencia Española de Seguridad Aérea of Spain (AESA) and Dirección Nacional de Aeronáutica Civil of Paraguay (DINAC), and under the auspices of ICAO SAM regional office.
