Webinar on certification and oversight of regional ANSPs in Europe

Online - 21 July 2021 (13:30 – 16:30 UTC)

From the European perspective, the certification of Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) is considered a key step forward towards improving the safety and efficiency of ANS provision as well as of the oversight functions.

Several states in the Latin American region are in the process of updating their ANS regulatory and supervisory frameworks and have shown keen interest in implementing an ANSP certification process. Additionally, the growth of services of regional/global nature, such as those based on satellite technologies, has put a spotlight on ways to ensure a cost-effective and safe oversight of such services.

In the European Union, certification of all Air Navigation Services is required, and EASA is the competent authority responsible for certifying and overseeing providers of services at regional level, among others.

This webinar, provided by Mr. Manuel Rivas (ATM Oversight Section Manager of EASA), aimed at providing insights into international best practices and implementation experiences in Europe regarding the different aspects of ANSP certification, with a focus on regional service providers, including a case study on the certification of AIREON as a Satellite-based ADS-B service provider in Europe.

This webinar was provided in the Spanish language. The agenda can be found here.
