Webinar on European frameworks for UAS/RPAS operations in the Open Category with SRVSOP

An online workshop took place on the 27th of May 2021 where EASA and Spanish Authority AESA experts provided the representatives from South American states with insights on the European regulations and approaches towards managing UAS/RPAS operations with a focus on the Open Category.
The South America state focal points as well as SRVSOP technical personnel gained insights into the European risk-based drone operations classification scheme and how it is applied in Spain, including challenges, lessons learned and best practices. This activity aimed at encouraging the application of European approaches to the management of UAS/RPAS operations in the region, which would increase safety and facilitate access for industry and operators.
