Twenty Fourth Workshop/Meeting on the ICAO SAM Implementation (SAM/IG/24)

Lima, Peru - 4 - 7 November 2019

The EU-LAC APP project took part in the Twenty Fourth Workshop/Meeting on the ICAO SAM implementation (SAM/IG/24) on 4 – 7 of November 2019 in Lima, Peru. This event was attended by representatives of Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs) and Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs) from the South America region as well as industry and international bodies. The SAM/IG constitutes a forum for Member States to coordinate progress on the implementation of operational and technical improvements in air navigation which are relevant at a regional level.

The EU-LAC APP participated as a contributor with CNS/ATM interoperability and automation aspects to the recently launched Interoperability Task Group (TG Interop). Additionally, a presentation was provided highlighting the project’s recent activities in these areas, such as the ATM Automation workshop in Santiago (Chile) or the AIDC interoperability analysis in Córdoba (Argentina) and Iquique (Chile). This presentation provided attendees with context regarding the support that EASA can provide to project partners, as well as information on best practices and European approaches to these topics.
