Regional Workshop on Remote Towers

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil - 10 - 14 March 2025

The project financed by the EU and implemented by EASA is pleased to announce a Regional Workshop on "Remote Towers", which will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 10 to 14 March 2025. This event will be held in collaboration with the Brazilian Department of Airspace Control (DECEA) and SRVSOP.

The workshop aims to strengthen the capacities of States in the implementation and oversight of remote towers, addressing the fundamental principles, international regulations and best practices for the management of these emerging technologies in the provision of air traffic services. 

The participants will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss the technical and operational advances and challenges of remote towers, as well as the associated regulatory issues and the determination of the feasibility of implementing these technologies.

As part of the workshop, a technical visit to the remote tower located in Santa Cruz, Rio de Janeiro is scheduled. This visit will allow participants to observe in the field the functioning and operation of a remote tower in a real environment, providing a practical and enriching vision of the technologies discussed during the sessions.
